Port Authority’s Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal

As we finalize plans for the holiday season and a possible getaway, now’s a good time for an up close look at “Anthem of the Seas,” the second largest ship to dock at Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal in Bayonne, New Jersey since the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey acquired the terminal in June 2010.   Labeled “the world’s first smartship,” the ship has 16 public decks and room for nearly 5,000 passengers.  “Anthem of the Seas” is the third largest cruise ship ever built, with astonishing features such as the North Star observation pod where passengers can take in 360-degree views from 300 feet and order drinks from robot bartenders. How awesome is that?  My only question is whether to tip the bartender.

The 167,800-ton ship is offering an eight-night cruise to the Bahamas for prices ranging from $1,049 for an interior room to $2,699 for a deluxe suite.  Take a look at the photo gallery and see for yourself.
