Throughout history, Port Authority airports have received celebrities from the world over. From popes and presidents to A-list celebrities and celebrated animals, the story of aviation in New York and New Jersey is filled with drama and adventure.  Yes, it’s a story about great aeronautical engineering marvels, but it’s also about the famous people who flew in and out of the region — many of whom attracted worldwide attention when they did.  Most of all, it’s a story that is still unfolding and in some ways just beginning as the Port Authority Airport System positions itself to meet the challenges of the 21st century as America’s premier gateway.
